Dr Rainer Kurz is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist involved with the key research and assessment technology programmes at Saville Consulting.

Rainer started his career at SHL fourteen years ago, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of assessment. He led the way in the development of 'on-screen' tests, expert systems and competency frameworks that are now used in more than thirty countries. Rainer has extensive international experience and spent eighteen months on secondment in Tokyo where he worked with Dentsu Advertising, NTT DoCoMo and the Japanese Employers Federation.

Rainer left SHL in the summer of 2002, working as a freelance consultant providing R&D services related to assessment, competency frameworks and online testing. He supported CareerHarmony with the launch of their TalentFinder Internet assessment platform, by implementing client projects, developing training courses and creating an online product catalogue.

Rainer began his education in Germany, graduating from the University of Wuerzburg with a degree in Psychology. He continued with his learning in England, gaining a masters degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Hull in 1990. Alongside his product development activities at SHL he studied for a PhD in Occupational Testing at UMIST, completing it in 2000.

Rainer has presented at many conferences and co-authored a book chapter based on his unique 'World of Work' model.
